Onion orders/chile at meeting this week!

Hi all,

We are meeting this week at 6:00pm on Tuesday at the library.  We will be swapping seeds, combining seed orders, planting some cold weather crops, ordering onion plants and eating a lot of good food!

Andrew has been talking up his red chile and I think we all need to see if it lives up to the hype, I am willing to do the same for my awesome green chile w/pork.  If you have a favorite chile dish, bring it or just bring something else that you like-we don’t have to stick to a theme other than yummy 🙂

If you have extra seeds bring them and trade for something that you don’t have. Bring your seed wish list and maybe we can combine orders to save on shipping.

Bring any cold weather crop seeds that you would like to start now in the dome-broccoli, kale, kohlrabi, cabbage, cauliflower and many flowers.

Beth LaShell at the Old Fort is getting ready to order onions so we will be putting that order together at the meeting.  Intermediate day onions and leeks come 60/bunch, the cost will be $3.50/bunch.  If you want something OTHER than intermediate day onions you can still order them but they will be a little more and I won’t know that cost until she has the full order together.  Check out this link for more info:

Can’t wait to see you all and get a chance to try Andrew’s chile!

  1. I was really hoping to make it to this evenings meeting but I have to work. I wouldn’t mind sharing onions with someone. Hope to make it to a meeting soon.Colleen Theobald

    1. Hi Colleen,
we will be getting extra onions and have them for the plant exchange so you’ll be covered. Sorry you can’t make it but I’m sure I’ll see you in the garden 🙂

  2. Hi Kami The seed trading is all new to me. How do you bring the seeds….do you just have a bunch by item or do you count them out?????? I also have some wall flowers on the stem?

    Thanks Peggy Morris

    1. Hi Peggy,
Bring them however is easy for you, people will have them in every shape/container/form. Debbie knows how to make these cool little seed envelopes with a sheet of paper and we have done that in the past to have a way to get them home. You never know what others will have or what they will want, always a big, fun surprise!
